Our Final Day...

As it was our final day, we decided to take a daytrip to the famous Nara Koen (Nara Park). Its so huge. Crazy huge. It comes complete with its own mountain to climb. There were so many temples there, and pretty cool ones too! I expected it to be a collection of small fairly recent temples but there were some that took you back. There were a ton of deer too, but they werent as nice as the Miyajima ones. Of course mixed in with this are a jillion souvenier shops, all selling deer-dropping chocolates. And I thought that the Japanese were better than that.
So off we went exploring as much of the park as we could. We even climbed that mountain, dotted with snake warnings. Seems you cant go up a mountain in Japan without being at risk from something! The view from the top wasn't so good as Nara is kinda smoggy but there was an alternative walk down which we took....and got charged for at the bottom. Seems someone should have been posted at the top selling tickets...and they werent. Yet there was a ticket collector at the very bottom of the mountain. That was a little sussed. But I guess it wasn't that much and the walk was nice.
We went to a yakisoba restaurant for our final dinner in Japan. We were the only ones in there until a couple of Americans came in. I wasnt so impressed with them, they started asking him if they could have theirs done in a special way and were very fussy. On top of that the waiter didn't speak English so it wasn't much fun to watch. And geez, it was only about 600 yen (£3) for dinner anyway!
The wait at the airport wasn't so bad, we were treated politely by the check-in staff, as opposed to when we arrived! And it had wifi! Which would have been good if the laptop was charged!

In all, we were really sad to leave Japan and didn't really want to come back. And now with the cold Winter and recession here in England, I wish we hadn't.
