Today we went out to visit as many of the main temples as we could see. However it was a busy Saturday so we managed to fit in about 3. The first had the gold covered temple in which was really pretty. The second was a huge complex of temples (including a love-finding temple) and we saw a couple of geisha wandering around which was cool. The third temple had 1000 statues of Kannon in which was amazing but 1000 of the same statue gets a little samey after a while.
In the evening we went to Gion and had a yakitori dinner. It was about 4 -5 courses of fried chicken dishes. It was really good, unhealthy Japanese food. I even had some beer with it.
I had a good time in Kyoto and its nice to have a few temples to come back to and visit again.
